Remove fake and hostile Facebook reviews
Facebook reviews are now Recommendations, and Meta removes those that break its Community Standards: spam and fake accounts, harassment, hate speech, content unrelated to your business. NetClearer reports them directly to Meta for Singapore businesses, with evidence and your signed authorisation. No password, no Page role, nothing to file yourself. S$29 per Recommendation, no extra fees.

Recommendations follow the Community Standards
Facebook has no separate review rulebook. A Recommendation is treated like any other post and goes only when it breaches the Community Standards. “Would not recommend, rude staff” stays; a stranger insulting your cashier by name, a fake account pasting the same text on five Pages, or a political rant does not.
It matters in Singapore: Facebook is where residents most often meet harmful content (57% in the 2025 MDDI survey). It is also one of six services designated under IMDA’s Code of Practice for Online Safety, in force since 18 July 2023, which obliges it to offer user reporting.
Recommendations we report
- Spam and inauthentic accounts: new profiles with no friends or photos, the same wording copied across several businesses.
- Harassment and bullying: insults aimed at a named staff member, threats, sexual remarks.
- Hate speech: attacks on race, religion or nationality, which in Singapore often target an owner or foreign staff.
- Content unrelated to your business: spill-over from a viral group post, or a dispute with someone who shares your shop’s name.
- Private information: a customer’s or employee’s address, phone number or NRIC details.
Why Meta keeps reports that look obvious
Meta’s reviewers see one Recommendation, not your Page’s history. Three mistakes sink most owner reports: choosing a category that does not describe the problem, such as “false information” for an opinion about your service; reporting a coordinated attack review by review without showing the pattern; and flagging a genuine complaint, which weakens later reports.
We report each Recommendation under the category that fits and add the context reviewers would otherwise miss: posting times, accounts created the same week, a group post that triggered the wave.
When a review harasses one of your staff
Facebook is a prescribed platform under the Online Safety (Relief and Accountability) Act 2025. If a Recommendation harasses a named employee, the employee reports it to Facebook first; if Facebook does not respond adequately within 24 hours, they can go to the Online Safety Commission free of charge, with proof of that report. Citizens, PRs and valid pass holders, Work Permit holders included, are eligible; your company is not. We handle the Page side for you meanwhile.
Should you turn reviews off on your Page?
A Page can switch reviews off in its settings; Facebook then removes the rating and existing Recommendations from view. Under a sustained attack, that is a quick fix. The cost: loyal customers’ praise disappears too, and a Page with no reviews can look less trustworthy than one with a few bad ones. For most F&B outlets, clinics and service firms we advise reporting the abusive Recommendations first and keeping the good ones visible.
How we handle a Facebook review case
- Links first. Send the Page link and the Recommendations concerned through the contact form, or on Messenger.
- Assessment. We check reviewer profiles and wording for a coordinated attack and sort the list: reportable, borderline, genuine.
- Direct reports. With your signed authorisation we report each Recommendation to Meta ourselves within 48 hours of your order. You never give us a password or a Page role.
- Follow-up. We track every report to a decision and tell you which Recommendations were removed.
Fake Pages copying your brand are covered on fake accounts, and group posts about you on Facebook. All review platforms: fake review removal.
Price and next step

Frequently asked questions
Can I delete a Recommendation as the Page admin?
No. An admin can reply, report it, or switch reviews off for the whole Page, but cannot delete a single Recommendation. Only the author or Meta can remove it. That is why a precise report under the right Community Standard, filed directly with Meta, matters more than repeated flagging.
The reviewer is a real person but never visited us. Can it go?
Often, if the content shows it: a reaction to a viral post, a complaint about another business, or abuse instead of an experience. Facebook has no booking record to compare with, so we rely on what the Recommendation says and on the pattern across accounts and posting times.
Will our customers notice that reviews were removed?
A Recommendation that Meta removes is simply no longer shown; we publish nothing about the request and never reply on your Page. Genuine reviews, good and bad, stay where they are, which keeps the Page credible for new customers reading it.
Do you also handle Instagram comments?
Instagram has no review section, but abusive comments and posts about your business can be reported under the same Meta rules. Mention them during the assessment and we quote them as content links at S$42 per link, outside the review packs, with no extra fees.
