Remove an unfair Carousell review
Carousell’s Review Policy ties every review to a real deal and bans fake offers, threats used to extort a rating, offensive content and personal information. NetClearer reports reviews that break these rules directly to Carousell for Singapore sellers, shops and home-service providers, with evidence from your chats and your signed authorisation. S$29 per review, no extra fees.

Why one Carousell review weighs so much
Buyers judge a seller by the profile rating before they open a chat. For a home-based baker, a renovation subcontractor or an aircon servicing business listed under home services, one unfair review on a thin profile can cut enquiries for weeks. Trust is a live issue on the platform: Carousell suspended 52,000 Singapore accounts in 2025 according to its own scam report, and it was among the platforms named in the CCS fake-review action of 30 September 2026.
What Carousell’s Review Policy forbids
- A review without a real deal. A completed transaction, or an agreement to deal between both parties, must exist.
- Fake offers to earn reviews, or any other manipulation of a profile rating.
- Extortion. Threatening a negative review to obtain a discount, a free item or a refund, or extorting a positive one.
- Offensive or inappropriate content, and anything against Carousell’s Terms of Service or Community Guidelines.
- Personal information about the other party without their express agreement.
Carousell decides case by case. A buyer who received a late or damaged item and says so has written a genuine review, and it stays.
The chat is your evidence: keep it
On Carousell almost every winning case rests on the in-app chat: the moment the buyer wrote “refund or I leave one star”, the absence of any agreed price or meet-up, the message where your phone number or HDB block was pasted. Requests usually fail because that chat was deleted, or because the seller retaliated with an angry review of the buyer, which breaks the same policy. Keep every chat, screenshot it with the date and time visible, and keep your own review of the buyer factual.
When the review exposes you personally
Many Carousell sellers are individuals, not companies. If a review or a follow-up post publishes your home address, NRIC details or phone number to harass you, that can be doxxing under POHA s 3(1)(c). As a citizen, PR or valid pass holder you can report it free to the Online Safety Commission at report.osc.gov.sg, with proof of identity. If a buyer actually scammed you, report it to the police online or call the ScamShield helpline on 1799. We handle the Carousell side in parallel.
How we handle your Carousell review
- Free assessment. Send your profile link and the review through the contact form; Messenger works too.
- Evidence from the chat. We pick out what Carousell can verify: the threat, the missing deal, the personal data, each with its timestamp.
- Direct request. With your signed authorisation we write to Carousell ourselves within 48 hours of your order, citing the exact Review Policy rule. We never need your login, and you do not file anything.
- Follow-up. We track the case and tell you what Carousell decided.
A dispute that starts on Carousell often spreads: a “scammer alert” post in a Facebook group, a Reddit thread, your listing photos on a fake shop. Our help for online sellers covers those, including Shopee and Lazada. Other review platforms: fake review removal.
Price and next step
S$29 per review, S$78 for three, S$214 for ten. Fixed price, no extra fees, secure card payment via Stripe, after the free assessment. Send the review link for a free assessment; see the pricing page.
Frequently asked questions
Can I delete a review left on my Carousell profile?
No. Only the author can edit their review, and only Carousell can remove one that breaks its Review Policy. That is why the request must name the specific rule broken, such as no real deal or a threat, and come with the supporting chat. We send that request to Carousell directly for you.
A buyer threatened a bad review unless I refunded them. What now?
Do not pay under pressure and do not delete the chat. Extorting a rating with the threat of a negative review breaks Carousell’s Review Policy. Screenshot the message with its date and send it to us; if the review is already posted, the threat is your strongest evidence.
Someone I never dealt with left me a review. Is that possible?
Reviews are tied to an offer or a deal, so it usually happens through a fake offer that was accepted or an agreement that never really existed. The policy requires a genuine deal, and the chat history, with no agreed price or meet-up, usually shows whether there was one.
Can a buyer’s scam accusation about me be removed?
If it is in a review and breaks the policy, we report it as a review. If the buyer posted it elsewhere, such as Facebook groups or forums, it is a content removal handled on our online sellers page, at S$42 per link with no extra fees.
