Remove fake Carousell reviews from your seller profile

On Carousell Hong Kong, a single false review can cost a reseller weeks of sales. NetClearer reports reviews that break Carousell’s community rules: buyers who never paid or met you, rival sellers on spare accounts, insults, personal data. We act on your signed authorisation, work starts within 48 hours, HK$176 per review, no extra fees.

Carousell reviews that can be reported

Carousell lets buyers and sellers review each other after a deal, and its help centre explains how to report a user or content that breaks its community guidelines. Carousell does not delete a review because you disagree with it. The cases worth a request are:

  • No real transaction: someone who chatted, never paid and never turned up at the MTR exit, then left a one-star review.
  • Rival sellers: several reviews from new accounts with no listings, all appearing after you undercut a competitor’s price.
  • Retaliation for refusing a scam: a “buyer” who wanted you to click a fake payment link and reviewed you after you refused.
  • Personal information: your mobile number, home address or building name posted in the review.
  • Abuse, threats or discriminatory language.
  • Extortion: “refund half or I will post that the camera is fake”.

A buyer who received a phone with a weaker battery than described, or a sofa with a stain you missed, may leave a fair but painful review. That stays; we tell you so before you pay.

Common Carousell problems for Hong Kong sellers

Camera and phone resellers in Sham Shui Po and Mong Kok, sneaker and toy collectors, furniture sellers moving flat and small shops that use Carousell as a second storefront all live on their rating. Carousell is one of the most visited sites in Hong Kong, and buyers sort by reviews before they message.

Two patterns recur: a deal agreed at a meeting point falls through, and the buyer who changed their mind writes that the item was fake; or a rival opens two or three fresh accounts in one weekend. When attacks spill over into scam call-outs in Facebook groups or fake profiles using your shop name, see our page for online sellers and fake account removal.

Before you pay anyone: the free route

Keep the whole chat in the app: Carousell staff can see it and it is your best evidence. Report the user from their profile, and contact Carousell through the help centre with the review link and a one-line reason. Reply politely under the review if the option is shown; buyers judge the seller’s tone. If a buyer sent a fake payment link or threatened you, the Anti-Scam Helpline 18222 gives free advice.

What NetClearer does

  1. Free written assessment of each review you send through the contact form, with a fixed price.
  2. Signed authorisation from you or your shop. We never log into your Carousell account.
  3. A clear report to Carousell: the review, the rule it breaks, and the facts that prove it, such as a chat showing no payment or no meeting.
  4. Follow-up until Carousell answers, with a written outcome per review.

Price and honest limits

HK$176 per review, HK$476 for 3, HK$1,312 for 10. Fixed price, no extra fees, card payment through Stripe; work starts within 48 hours. Carousell alone decides whether a review stays. We never post reviews for you, buy them or ask friends to rate you. See all review removal services.

Frequently asked questions

Do you need my Carousell password?

No. We never ask for it and never log in as you. You sign a short authorisation and keep control of your account. If Carousell needs something only the account holder can send, such as a chat export, we tell you exactly what to send and where.

Can a review be removed if the buyer never paid?

It is one of the stronger cases, because the chat history usually shows that no deal took place. We present the timeline to Carousell clearly. Carousell still decides, and if the buyer did pay and receive the item, the review is treated as genuine.

Is this worth it for a private seller?

Often only for a review that is clearly false or contains your personal data. For one bad but honest review among many good ones, a polite reply is usually enough, and we will tell you so in the free assessment rather than sell you a request.

Tell us what’s happening. We’ll take it from here.

Free, confidential assessment in writing. Send the links through the form: we reply within 24 hours with the route, the timeline and the fixed HK$ price.
