Content removal by platform in Hong Kong

Every platform has its own report forms, evidence rules and response times, and Hong Kong sets no takedown deadline for any of them. Pick the platform where the post, thread, video or profile appears to see what NetClearer removes there, which route works best, and which free options you can use yourself.

Pick a platform

Harmful content rarely stays in one place. A naming thread on LIHKG is screenshotted into Telegram channels, then reposted on Facebook and Instagram within a day. Start with the platform where it first appeared: the copies elsewhere are covered by the same written assessment.

Facebook post removal

Estate-group exposure posts, doxxing with HKID or flat details, cloned profiles and copied shop pages on Facebook: reported to Meta, and to the PCPD when it is doxxing.

Instagram and Threads removal

Report routes and Hong Kong levers

Without an online-safety regulator, removal depends on each platform’s own rules. Two Hong Kong levers add weight: the PCPD can serve doxxing cessation notices on platforms based overseas, and since the Fevaworks ruling a forum host must act once properly notified of a defamatory post.

Routes as published by each platform, checked in October 2026. Private chats are generally not reviewed.
