Remove abusive JobsDB company reviews

JobsDB is where most Hong Kong job seekers check an employer first. NetClearer reports company reviews there that break JobsDB’s content rules: staff named and insulted, personal data, reviews by people who never worked for you. We act on your signed authorisation, work starts within 48 hours, and it costs HK$176 per review, no extra fees.

Which JobsDB reviews can be challenged

JobsDB company profiles (hk.jobsdb.com/companies) show ratings and written reviews next to your job adverts. JobsDB, not the employer, decides what stays, and its detailed moderation criteria are not fully public. The reasons any job platform accepts, and the ones we put forward, are:

  • Personal attacks on a named supervisor, shift lead or HR officer instead of comments on the job.
  • Personal data: a colleague’s mobile number, home district or HKID details written into the review.
  • Not an employee: a candidate who was interviewed but never hired, or a competitor recruiting your staff.
  • Duplicates: the same text posted several times to drag the rating down.
  • Offensive or discriminatory language, threats, or content unrelated to working for you.
  • Confidential business information, such as client lists or internal pay scales copied from documents.

Reviews about low pay, long shifts in a restaurant group or a tough probation period are genuine opinions and stay online. We tell you which ones they are during the free assessment.

Why JobsDB reviews hit Hong Kong employers hard

Retail chains, F&B groups, logistics firms, property management companies and clinics recruit constantly through JobsDB. A candidate who sees a 2.1 rating with a review calling the shop manager a liar may simply not apply, which costs real money in a tight labour market. Reviews are often written in a mix of Chinese and English, sometimes just after a dismissal at the end of probation or a dispute over the final salary and annual leave payment.

If an ex-employee goes further and posts a manager’s phone number or home address with threats, that can be doxxing under the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance: see doxxing removal.

Free steps for the employer

Keep your employer profile up to date and reply professionally where a reply is offered, since candidates read the tone of the answer. You can contact JobsDB’s employer customer service yourself with the review link and the reason. The weak point of a do-it-yourself request is usually precision: a message saying the review is unfair, without the exact words that break a rule, tends to be refused.

Our method for JobsDB

  1. Written assessment, free: you send the profile and review links through the contact form; we reply with the reportable reviews and a fixed quotation.
  2. Signed authorisation: the company authorises NetClearer to act. We do not use your JobsDB employer login.
  3. Clear request: for each review, the passage concerned, the reason, and supporting facts such as proof that no one with that job title was employed.
  4. Follow-up with JobsDB until it answers, then a written summary for you.

Price and limits

HK$176 per review, HK$476 for 3, HK$1,312 for 10. Fixed price, no extra fees, paid by card through Stripe; work starts within 48 hours of payment. JobsDB makes every decision, so we promise the work, not the result. NetClearer is not a law firm: for a defamation claim, consult a Hong Kong solicitor. Frequently asked questions

Can you remove our low JobsDB rating?

No. The overall rating comes from many reviewers, and JobsDB does not remove ratings because they are low. We only ask for the removal of individual reviews that break its rules. Removing a fake or duplicated review can still lift the average if it pulled the score down.

The review is in Chinese. Is that a problem?

No. We read reviews in traditional Chinese and English and explain in our request which phrase breaks the rule and why. Mixed Chinese and English text, common in Hong Kong workplaces, is handled the same way as any other review.

Will the former employee be contacted?

Never. We do not contact reviewers, current staff or former staff, and we advise you not to approach the person either: pressure on an ex-employee to withdraw a review can backfire badly. We deal with JobsDB only.

Tell us what’s happening. We’ll take it from here.

Free, confidential assessment in writing. Send the links through the form: we reply within 24 hours with the route, the timeline and the fixed HK$ price.
