Remove Reddit posts and comments about you

A Reddit thread discusses you by name, a comment lists your workplace and estate, or private images of you appear in a subreddit? NetClearer reports each post and comment to the subreddit moderators and to Reddit under the rule it breaks, then asks Google to drop the pages. HK$255 per link, fixed price, no extra fees; work starts within 48 hours.

Reddit’s fast growth in Hong Kong

Reddit’s advertising reach in Hong Kong grew by 397% in a year to about 3.35 million people, 45.3% of the population (DataReportal, Digital 2026), and reddit.com is the fifteenth most visited website locally (Similarweb, August 2026). Expats, students and English-speaking professionals use local subreddits to ask about landlords, employers, schools and dating, and Google now shows Reddit threads prominently in its results.

The consequence is new for many Hong Kong residents: a thread asking “has anyone worked with…” or “avoid this person” can become one of the first results for a name or a small business, in English, for years.

What we report on Reddit

  • Personal information: your HKID number, home address, mobile number, employer or photos that identify you, posted without consent. Reddit’s rules ban posting private information.
  • Intimate images shared without consent, including edited and AI-made images, in any subreddit.
  • Impersonation: an account presenting itself as you or as your business.
  • Harassment: threads or comment chains targeting you as a person, and repeated posts after a removal.

Two levels of moderation

Reddit works on two levels. Subreddit moderators are volunteers who enforce their community’s rules; they can be contacted through the community’s mod mail and often act fast on posts that name private people. Reddit itself enforces its site-wide rules through reports from the post menu and the form at reddit.com/report, which also covers people without a Reddit account.

Reddit is a StopNCII.org partner: if you create a hash of an intimate image on your own device, Reddit can use it to detect and block matching uploads. Deleted posts may still appear in Google for a while, so the search result needs its own request.

Hong Kong routes that also apply

If the post discloses your personal data to harass or frighten you, it may be doxxing under Part 9A of the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance. The PCPD can serve cessation notices on overseas platforms; we prepare and file the free complaint with your written authorisation, and you remain the complainant and witness. Publishing intimate images without consent is an offence under section 159AAE of the Crimes Ordinance; the police report is made by you, with the evidence pack we prepare.

How we handle a Reddit case

  1. Free written assessment of the threads and comments, with the rule that applies to each and a fixed quotation.
  2. Moderator request, factual and short, for posts that break the subreddit’s own rules.
  3. Reports to Reddit under the site-wide rule, with the evidence it needs.
  4. Google: removed or edited threads that still show in search, and pages showing your personal data, are submitted under Google’s policies.
  5. Follow-up and a written report of each link’s status.

What stays online

Honest experiences shared about a business, criticism of public figures and anything political or about national security are outside our work. Never send us intimate images: links are enough. If a minor is involved, call 999 or go to a police station first.

Frequently asked questions

Do moderators or Reddit decide?

Both can remove content. Moderators apply their subreddit’s rules and Reddit applies its site-wide policy, and either can act first. We approach both where it makes sense, because a moderator often removes a naming thread faster than a site-wide review.

The post was deleted but Google still shows it. What now?

Google keeps an old snippet until it recrawls the page. We file Google’s outdated content request for deleted pages, and its personal information request when the snippet itself shows your details. Each Google result counts as one link.

Will the Reddit user know who reported them?

Reddit does not reveal reporters to the account reported, and our moderator messages are sent from our side without your contact details. If you file a police report or a PCPD complaint, those bodies decide what to tell the person concerned.

What does a Reddit removal cost?

HK$255 per link, where a link is a post, a comment or a Google result. A thread with two problem comments and one Google result is three links, HK$608. Prices are fixed with no extra fees, quoted in writing before you pay.
