Why adult sites matter so much in Singapore

Pornhub, xHamster and XVideos all rank among the 14 most visited websites in Singapore, with about 25 million, 13 million and 10 million visits a month (Semrush, August 2026). Clips first shared in local Telegram channels are re-uploaded there under titles naming “SG”, an estate or a school, then copied by smaller aggregator and leak sites that scrape the big tubes automatically.

That is why one takedown is rarely enough. We treat each case as a list of URLs to clear, not a single complaint.

What we can get removed

• Videos or photos shared without consent: filmed with a partner, filmed secretly, or taken from a hacked phone or cloud account.
• AI-generated or face-swapped content using your likeness: see deepfake removal.
• Leaked paid content from OnlyFans, Fansly and similar, reposted without the creator’s permission: you own the copyright, and we draft and send the notices.
• Pages that name you or link to your social media, school or workplace alongside the content.

How removal works on tube sites

1. Mapping. From your links, we search each site and its mirrors for the same clip under other titles, and list every URL before quoting.
2. Non-consent forms, not copyright, by default. The large tubes run removal forms for content published without the consent of the person shown, separate from copyright claims. A copyright notice usually forwards your name and contact details to the uploader; the non-consent route does not. We keep each reference number.
3. Copyright notices for creators, sent to the site and then to its host if ignored.
4. Host and registrar. For leak sites that never answer, we identify the hosting company and domain registrar and report the pages under their acceptable-use rules.
5. Google. We request removal of each page and thumbnail from Search and Images under the non-consensual explicit imagery policy.

Why tube removals fail, and how we avoid it

• Only the original upload is reported. Duplicates under new titles stay up. Our mapping step lists them first.
• The mirror changes domain. Leak sites move to a new address and keep the files. We report to the host and registrar, and monitoring packs pick up the new domain.
• The page goes but Google keeps the thumbnail. We request the image result separately.
• The wrong category is chosen. A copyright claim from someone who does not own the footage is refused. The non-consent form fits most victims.

The OSC, StopNCII and offshore sites

If you are a citizen, PR or valid pass holder, including Work Permit, S Pass, EP and Dependant’s Pass, report to the Online Safety Commission at report.osc.gov.sg: it is free. Tube sites are not among the platforms prescribed with 24-hour duties, and most are run from abroad. If one ignores an OSC direction, the remedy is an order blocking access from Singapore: the video stays online elsewhere and through a VPN, and each mirror needs a new report. Our work targets the copies themselves, wherever they are hosted.

StopNCII.org is also worth using: it fingerprints your image or video on your own device so participating platforms can block matching uploads. It does not remove existing copies.
