Remove Glassdoor reviews that break the rules
NetClearer asks Glassdoor to take down reviews of your Malaysian company that break its Community Guidelines: staff named and attacked, confidential information, posts by people who never worked for you, or rivals in disguise. We file with your signed authorisation, work starts within 48 hours, and it costs RM92 per review, fixed price, no extra fees.

Which Glassdoor reviews can be taken down
Glassdoor protects anonymous employees who describe a real experience, even harshly. It removes content that breaks its Community Guidelines. In practice, these are the grounds we use:
- A non-public person named or targeted: a line leader at your Penang plant or the HR executive of a 25-person SME identified and attacked, rather than the company being criticised.
- Confidential company information: unreleased products, client names, internal figures or documents quoted from the intranet.
- No first-hand experience: a review by a candidate who was never hired, a friend of a former employee, or someone repeating office gossip.
- Conflict of interest: a competitor, a relative of a dismissed employee, or one person posting several reviews to fake a trend.
- Threats, hate or harassment: aggressive, discriminatory or malicious content aimed at people.
- Off-topic or promotional content: links, adverts for another employer, or text that has nothing to do with working for you.
Genuine criticism stays: a one-star review about long hours, late increments or a weak manager who is not identified is a real employee opinion. We tell you so during the free assessment and do not charge for it.
Why Malaysian employers feel Glassdoor reviews
Candidates check Glassdoor before accepting an offer, especially for multinationals in the Penang and Kulim electronics belt, shared service centres in Kuala Lumpur and Cyberjaya, and tech firms hiring graduates. The company page often ranks on Google just under your own website when someone searches your name with “review” or “gaji”.
Two patterns come up often. After a retrenchment exercise or a voluntary separation scheme, a burst of one-star reviews arrives in a few days, some written by people who were never on the payroll. In a small company, a single detailed review can identify one colleague by job title alone and follow that person for years.
The same employees often post on Indeed company reviews and JobStreet, and sometimes in a Lowyat forum thread. We check each platform under its own rules.
The free route, and why it often fails
Any verified employer can flag a review for free: in the Employer Center, open Reviews, click the flag icon under the review and explain the problem. Glassdoor says it answers flags within about 72 business hours. It also limits how often the same review can be flagged, so a vague first attempt (“this is unfair”) can close the door on a later, well-argued one.
Malaysia’s Online Safety Act 2025 does not help here: it covers harmful content on large licensed social media and messaging platforms, not reviews of a business. The route is Glassdoor’s own policy, applied precisely.
How we handle a Glassdoor review
- Free assessment. Send us the review links through the contact form. We tell you which ones break a guideline, which do not, and the price before you pay.
- Signed authorisation. You sign a short letter allowing NetClearer to act for the company. We never ask for your Employer Center login and are never added as an account admin. You do not file anything yourself.
- A precise report. We contact Glassdoor directly, name the exact guideline, quote the sentence that breaks it and attach supporting evidence, such as proof that a role or department never existed (personal data redacted).
- Follow-up. We track each report until Glassdoor decides, and send you a short written outcome per review.
What Malaysian law adds, and what it does not
There is no right to have a review erased in Malaysia: the Personal Data Protection Act 2010 has no erasure right, and Glassdoor applies its own policies, not Malaysian ones. A review that is false and damaging may be defamatory, but suing an anonymous reviewer means court applications before you even know who wrote it. For guideline breaches, the platform route is faster and costs far less. We are not a law firm and give no legal advice; for a defamation claim, see a lawyer, and read our page on defamatory posts.
Price and timing
RM92 per review, RM248 for 3 reviews, RM683 for 10. Fixed price, no extra fees, paid by card through Stripe after the free assessment. Work starts within 48 hours of payment; Glassdoor then makes the decision. See all review removal services and the pricing page.
Frequently asked questions
Will the reviewer find out that we reported the review?
No. Glassdoor does not tell reviewers who flagged their content, and we never contact the reviewer, your staff or former staff. Reviewers stay anonymous to you as well: we do not try to identify them, and you should not either, as that can create a new problem inside the company.
Can you remove every negative Glassdoor review?
No, and no honest service can. Glassdoor keeps genuine first-hand opinions, even unfair ones. We only report reviews that break a guideline, tell you plainly which ones do not, and suggest a calm public reply for those. We never post, buy or encourage positive reviews.
Do you need access to our Glassdoor Employer Center?
No. We never ask for your login and are never added as an admin. We act on a signed authorisation from the company and contact Glassdoor ourselves, so your HR team does not have to manage the process or explain anything to the platform.
What happens if Glassdoor refuses?
Glassdoor has the final word. If new evidence appears, such as proof that the reviewer never worked for you, we can present it once in a fresh report. If the review is simply critical but genuine, we tell you so rather than filing weak reports that use up your flags.
