Remove your name from Google search results in Malaysia
Google will not delete a name, but it will remove many of the pages that make a name search painful. NetClearer reviews what appears when people search for you, gets posts removed where they break platform rules, and asks Google to drop results that fall under its policies. RM133 per link, fixed price with no extra fees; work starts within 48 hours.

Why there is no single “delete my name” button
Malaysia has no right to be forgotten. The PDPA 2010 contains no right to have data erased, and it does not apply to private individuals or to journalism in the public interest. People in Europe can ask Google to delist results under EU law; that route is not open to Malaysian residents.
So the work is done result by result. Each link on the first pages for your name is either hosted on a platform with rules, held by a site owner who can edit it, or covered by one of Google’s own removal policies. Some results fit none of these and will stay. A good clean-up starts by telling you which is which.
What usually comes up for a Malaysian name
- A TikTok or Facebook video from a dispute that went viral, with your name in the caption
- A Lowyat, Cari or Reddit thread calling you a scammer after a deal went wrong
- A BM or English news report from years ago, often about a case that ended without a conviction
- Copies of a Shopee or Lazada dispute posted to a complaints page
- An impersonation account using your name and photos
- Google autocomplete suggesting “scam” or “viral” next to your name
How we sort the results
| Type of result | What we can ask for | Who decides |
|---|---|---|
| Post that harasses, threatens, exposes private details or impersonates you | Removal at the source under the platform’s rules; MCMC complaint where the Online Safety Act applies | The platform |
| Page showing your IC number, phone, address or intimate images | Removal from Google under its personal information and intimate imagery policies, plus removal at the source | Google and the site |
| Page already edited or deleted, but Google still shows it | Outdated content refresh | |
| News article | Update, anonymisation or removal of personal details from the editor | The editor |
| Genuine criticism or accurate reporting on a public matter | Usually nothing: we will tell you before you pay | — |
We do not bury results by publishing filler content or fake profiles, and we do not post reviews. Our work is removal through the routes each site and Google provide.
Google autocomplete and image results
Autocomplete predictions that link your name to a crime or an insult can be reported to Google through the “Report inappropriate predictions” link under the search box; Google reviews them against its autocomplete policies. Image results come from the pages they sit on, so we work on the page first, then ask Google to refresh or remove the image result. Photos of you with your contact details, or intimate images shared without consent, have their own Google removal forms.
The process
- Free review of your name search. Tell us your name as people search it, including spellings in BM or Chinese if relevant, and the links that worry you most.
- Written plan and fixed price. Each link gets a route and a realistic note.
- Payment by card through Stripe, and work starts within 48 hours.
- Reports and requests to platforms, site owners, editors and Google, with follow-up until each one has an answer.
- Before-and-after check of your name search, with the status of every link.
When a name search needs more than removal
If the problem is a viral video or post, see viral post removal. If it is a false accusation, see defamatory post removal, keeping in mind that NetClearer is not a law firm and a defamation claim needs a lawyer. For news reports, see news article removal. If the name result is mostly about your contact details, it belongs with personal information removal.
Price
RM133 per link, RM316 for three, RM912 for ten with a removal report. Name clean-ups often involve five to ten links, and the free review tells you which pack fits. Fixed price, no extra fees. See the pricing page.
Frequently asked questions
Can you make Google show nothing for my name?
No, and no honest service can. Google will keep showing results for your name, including your own profiles and anything newsworthy. What we can do is remove the pages that break a platform rule or a Google policy, so the results people see are no longer the post or thread that is hurting you.
Someone with the same name has a bad reputation. Can you help?
Only partly. We cannot remove accurate pages about another person. If a site or a post has confused the two of you, for example by using your photo, we can ask for a correction or removal. Otherwise, strengthening your own professional profiles is the usual answer, and that is outside our service.
Is it worth trying the free Google form myself first?
For a single page showing your phone number or IC, yes: the form is free and Google answers by email. Our service makes sense when there are several links on different platforms, when the site must be dealt with first, or when the first request was refused and needs better grounds.
Do you need my IC or a copy of my documents?
No. We need the links, your name as it appears, and your authorisation to act. Google sometimes asks the affected person to confirm a request; we tell you when that happens. We never ask for passwords and never contact your employer or family.
