Fake reviews, false scammer posts and copycat shops: help for Malaysian online sellers
NetClearer helps sellers on Shopee, Lazada, TikTok Shop, Mudah and Facebook Marketplace remove fake or abusive reviews, posts wrongly calling them scammers, and shops copying their name. We report directly to each platform with your signed authorisation, never with your login. From RM92 per review and RM133 per post link, fixed price; work starts within 48 hours.

What hurts a Malaysian online shop
- A wave of 1-star ratings on your Shopee or Lazada store from accounts that never bought from you
- A rating used as a weapon: a buyer who writes threats, insults or your phone number, or who promises to remove the review only if you refund or pay
- A “scammer” post in a Facebook group or a TikTok exposé after a late parcel, showing your face, your IC number or your shop address
- A copycat shop using your brand name and product photos on Facebook Marketplace, Mudah or Telegram to take payments that never ship, while the angry buyers blame you
- A forum thread on Lowyat or Cari repeating the accusation, which then shows up on Google under your shop’s name
What each marketplace allows
None of these platforms removes a rating because it is negative. Each acts only when a review or post breaks its own rules, and the proof expected differs:
| Platform | What can usually be challenged | Who reports |
|---|---|---|
| Shopee | Ratings with profanity, hate speech or threats, media unrelated to the item, nonsense text; see Shopee review removal | The seller account, or NetClearer on your behalf through Shopee’s seller support |
| Lazada | Abusive or off-topic reviews and copied listings; disputes need evidence, and appeals need new evidence; see Lazada review removal | The seller account, or NetClearer on your behalf through Lazada’s seller support |
| TikTok Shop | Spam, irrelevant or abusive reviews, which TikTok also filters automatically; appeals go through the Seller Center | The seller, or NetClearer with your authorisation |
| Mudah | Fake ads reusing your photos or company name, and scam listings | Any user, through the report option on the ad |
| Facebook Marketplace | Fake listings and profiles copying your shop, abusive seller ratings, scammer posts in groups | Any user, through the Report link on the listing, profile or post |
The free routes, and what they do not cover
If a buyer paid a copycat shop, they should call NSRC 997 as early as possible, within 24 hours of the transfer, and you can point them to it. Fake websites and impersonation of your business can be reported to MCMC at aduan.mcmc.gov.my, and a buyer demanding money to remove a rating is a matter for the police station. Genuine consumer disputes go to KPDN or the Tribunal for Consumer Claims (claims up to RM50,000, RM5 filing fee).
What these routes do not do is clean your store page or your search results. Reviews about a business are not one of the harmful content categories of the Online Safety Act 2025, and the Consumer Protection Act 1999 has no specific rule on fake reviews, only its general ban on misleading conduct. The work of challenging each review and post with the right evidence remains, and that is what we do.
How we work for sellers
- Free assessment. Send us the links to the reviews, posts and copycat listings. We tell you which ones break the platform’s rules, which do not, and the price, before you pay.
- Signed authorisation. You sign a short authorisation naming your shop. We contact the platform directly with it. We never ask for your password, are never added as a manager on your store, and you never have to file the reports yourself.
- Evidence per item. Order records showing the reviewer never bought, matching wording across accounts, the date of a threat, the original photos that prove a listing copies yours.
- Posts and Google. False scammer posts in Facebook groups or on TikTok are reported under harassment or privacy rules when they publish your IC number or home address; see defamatory post removal. Copycat pages go through fake account removal. Google results follow.
What stays up
A buyer who received a late parcel and says so has the right to leave that review. We only challenge fake, abusive, off-topic, conflict-of-interest, personal-data or blackmail reviews, and we never post, buy or exchange reviews for you. Fake praise can amount to misleading conduct under the Consumer Protection Act, and marketplaces ban review manipulation. We are not a law firm and give no legal advice; if you want to sue over a false scammer post, see a lawyer. All review platforms are listed under fake review removal.
Prices for sellers
Reviews: RM92 for one, RM248 for three, RM683 for ten. Posts, listings and Google results: RM133 per link, with packs from RM316 for three. Fixed prices, no extra fees, card payment through Stripe. Work starts within 48 hours of your order. Full details on the pricing page.
Frequently asked questions
Will the buyer or the rival shop know we reported them?
No. Platforms do not normally tell a reviewer who reported their review. We never contact the reviewer, the rival or the person behind a post, and nothing appears on your store page.
Can you remove a genuine 1-star review?
No, and we say so during the free assessment. A real buyer describing a real problem stays up. What we remove is a review that is fake, abusive, off-topic, written by a competitor, exposes personal data or is used for blackmail.
A buyer says he will delete his review if I refund him twice. What do I do?
Do not pay. Keep the chat and the order record. That kind of demand is grounds for a report to the platform, and a police report is possible if it turns into threats. We include the chat as evidence when we challenge the review.
Why do you need a signed authorisation instead of my login?
Sharing a seller login exposes your store, your payouts and your customers’ data. A signed authorisation lets us act for your business openly, while you keep full control of your store.
