How doxxing usually happens here

Doxxing in Malaysia tends to follow a public argument. A road incident, a customer dispute, a comment on a political post or a breakup becomes a TikTok “exposé”, and within a day viewers have added your employer, your IC number and the name of your taman. The original video is often not the worst part: the comment section and the reposts are.

  • A TikTok or Facebook video naming you, with your identity details stitched in by other users
  • A Facebook group post asking members to “find this person”, followed by your address and car plate
  • A Telegram channel that collects screenshots of your profile, phone number and family photos
  • A Lowyat, Cari or Reddit thread that links your anonymous account to your real name
  • X accounts that repost the details, often after the TikTok video has been taken down

Doxxing has been a crime since July 2025

The Penal Code amendments that came into force on 11 July 2025 created specific offences. Section 507E covers publishing a person’s identity information to cause them harassment or distress, with up to 3 years in prison. Section 507F covers publishing it to make them believe they will be harmed, or to make harm possible, with up to 1 year. Section 507G defines harm widely, including psychological harm and harm to reputation. Abusive posts that come with the doxxing can also fall under s.507B and CMA s.233.

A criminal case and a takedown are separate things. The police investigate the person; the posts stay up until a platform, a host or Google removes them. Most victims need both, and the takedown cannot wait for the investigation.

Your first 24 hours

  • Screenshot every post with the link, the date and the time visible, before it is edited or deleted.
  • Copy the profile links of the accounts that posted, not only their display names.
  • Do not reply, argue or repost to defend yourself: engagement pushes the content further.
  • Lock down your own accounts: hide your friends list, tagged photos and workplace.
  • If anyone comes to your home or threatens you, call 999 and make a police report at a station. We prepare the evidence pack so the report is quick.

How we take doxxing down

  1. You send the links through the contact form. We map every copy we can find, including reposts you have not seen yet, and send a fixed quote.
  2. We file the platform reports, citing the exact rule each post breaks, and the MCMC complaint where the platform falls under the Act. Section 24 lets any user report, so we can file it for you.
  3. We handle what the Act does not reach: X, forums, overseas sites and Google results that still display your details after the post is gone.
  4. We follow up on every report until there is an answer, and check again for new copies. On the 20-link pack we keep monitoring for re-uploads.

What we will not do

We do not try to unmask anonymous posters, we do not post replies or counter-videos, and we do not send legal threats in our name. NetClearer is not a law firm. If you want an injunction or damages, a lawyer is the right person; our evidence pack and the list of links we have handled will help them.

Price and timing

One link costs RM133, three cost RM316, ten cost RM912 with a removal report. Doxxing usually involves several links, so the free assessment tells you which pack fits before you pay. Fixed price, no extra fees, card payment through Stripe, and work starts within 48 hours. See all prices or go back to personal information removal.

Frequently asked questions

The video is gone but my details are still everywhere. Can you help?

Yes, that is the most common situation. Once the main video is removed, copies remain in comments, reposts, Telegram channels and Google results. We list every remaining link, report each one under the right rule, and ask Google to drop the results that still show your IC, phone number or address.

Can you find out who doxxed me?

No. Platforms only release account data to the police under a legal process, and we do not attempt to identify people ourselves. If you know or suspect who it is, include that in your police report. Our work stays focused on getting the posts and the search results taken down.

Will MCMC remove it faster than you?

MCMC can direct platforms and order blocking, and its route is free. It does not cover Google results or reach every overseas site, and it depends on the complaint being complete. We file that complaint as one step among others, then work on the links it leaves behind.

Is it confidential?

Yes. We never contact your family, employer or the person who posted, and we never ask for your passwords. You do not need to send us a copy of your IC. The links and screenshots are enough to file every report.

Tell us what’s happening. We’ll take it from here.

Free, confidential assessment. Send the links through the form: we reply within 24 hours with the route and the fixed RM price.
