Remove a link or an image from Google in Malaysia
NetClearer asks Google to drop search results and Google Images entries that expose you: your IC number, home address, intimate images, or a page that has changed. Where possible we first get the page itself taken down. From RM133 per link, fixed price, no extra fees; work starts within 48 hours.

Google de-lists under its own rules, not under Malaysian law
Malaysia has no right to be forgotten. The Personal Data Protection Act 2010 gives no right to have data erased, it does not apply to what private individuals post, and it exempts journalism in the public interest. So nobody in Malaysia can “order” Google to forget you on the basis of privacy alone.
What does work is Google’s own removal policies, which apply worldwide. When a result fits one of them, Google takes it out of its results, usually after reviewing a written request. The page itself stays online until the website removes it, which is why we work on both ends.
Which Google requests fit which problem
| Problem | Google route | What to expect |
|---|---|---|
| IC (MyKad) number, bank or card number, signature, medical record, login details | Personal information removal form | Strong grounds: confidential identity and financial data is a listed category |
| Home address, phone number or email posted with threats or calls to harass | Same form, doxxing option | Google looks for the intent to harm or contact you, so screenshots of the context matter |
| Intimate images shared without consent | Explicit image removal request | Google also removes duplicates it finds and can filter similar results for you |
| AI-made or face-swapped sexual images | Same request, fake explicit imagery option | You must be identifiable and the image must be fake and shared without consent |
| Page already deleted or edited, but Google still shows the old title, snippet or picture | Refresh Outdated Content tool | Updates the result once Google sees the change, often within days |
| Copied photos or videos you own | Legal removal request (copyright) | Goes against the copy, wherever it is hosted |
Google’s “Results about you” dashboard is offered only in certain countries, and Malaysia is not confirmed among them. For Malaysian clients we use the standard personal information request, which is open everywhere and covers the same data.
The free routes, and where they stop
You can file Google’s forms yourself, at no cost, with a Google account. If the content also sits on Facebook, TikTok or Instagram, the in-app report under the Online Safety Act 2025 is free too, and a complaint at aduan.mcmc.gov.my lets MCMC look at the content; for threats or extortion, a report at a police station comes first.
Their limits are practical. Google Search is not among the platforms named as licensed under the Act, so its 12-hour assessment rule does not apply to search results. MCMC can have a site blocked for Malaysian users, yet the Google result often still shows its title and thumbnail, and mirror domains carry the same page. Requests that are vague, sent to the wrong form or missing proof are refused, and few people have time to check twenty links one by one.
How we take a result out of Google
- Free assessment. You send the links, or the search you typed (for example your name with your taman, or your name in Malay and Chinese). We tell you which policy fits each result, what we expect, and the price, before you pay.
- Source first. Where the page can come down, we report it to the site, its moderators or its host, because a deleted page drops out of Google once it is recrawled.
- Google request. We file the matching request for every result left, with the evidence Google’s reviewers look for, and answer any follow-up questions from Google.
- Outdated snippets. When the source is gone but Google still shows the old text or image, we use the outdated content tool until the result updates.
- Report. You get the status of each link. With the larger packs we also search again for copies and new results.
Results we are asked about most in Malaysia
- A Facebook group post with an IC number and a photo of a MyKad, now showing in Google Images.
- An illegal moneylender’s “funeral” poster or shaming post with a debtor’s face and address in a jalan or taman.
- A Lowyat or Cari thread naming someone, years old but still the first result for their name.
- A BM news portal story about a case that was later dropped, still ranking above everything else.
- Intimate images or clips re-uploaded on foreign adult sites and mirror domains that are blocked in Malaysia but still indexed.

Price, timeline and discretion
One link costs RM133, fixed price, no extra fees, and work starts within 48 hours of your order. Packs lower the cost per link: 3 links RM316, 10 links RM912 with a removal report, 20 links RM1,600 with monitoring for re-uploads. See all options on the pricing page. Payment is by card through Stripe.
We never contact your family, your employer or the person who posted the content, and we never ask for your passwords. We are not a law firm and give no legal advice; when a police report, the Anti-Sexual Harassment Tribunal or a lawyer is the better route, we say so.
Frequently asked questions
If Google removes the link, is the page deleted?
No. Google only stops showing it in its results; the page stays on the website until the site owner or host removes it. That is why we try the source first: once a page is gone, the result drops out of Google too, and the outdated content tool clears what is left.
Can I use the right to be forgotten in Malaysia?
Not as a legal right. Malaysian law has no right to be forgotten and the PDPA has no erasure right. Google still removes many results under its own global policies, such as identity numbers, doxxing and intimate images. We choose the policy that fits your case and explain your chances honestly.
How long does Google take to decide?
We file within 48 hours of your order. Google often answers personal information and explicit image requests within a few days to a few weeks, and may ask for more detail. Outdated content requests can update within days once the page has changed. We follow each request until Google decides.
Can you remove a news article from Google?
Sometimes. Google rarely de-lists accurate news, and Malaysian data law exempts journalism. Outdated or corrected articles, pages exposing your IC number or address, and copies on scraper sites have better grounds. Our news article removal page explains how we approach editors first, then Google.
What if Google refuses my request?
A refusal is not always final. We check the reason, add missing evidence, and file again under a better-fitting policy, or work on the website and its host instead. If nothing realistic remains, we tell you plainly rather than keep charging for attempts.
