Remove a fake or abusive Yelp review
A Yelp review can be removed when it breaks Yelp’s Content Guidelines: no first-hand experience, conflict of interest, hate speech, threats, private information or irrelevant content. NetClearer reports it to Yelp directly on your behalf and follows the moderators’ decision. From ₱1,400 per review, taxes included.

Is Yelp worth your time in the Philippines?
Honestly, for most Filipino businesses, not much. Few local customers use Yelp; Google Maps and Facebook matter far more. Yelp mainly matters if you serve foreign tourists, especially from the United States, or sell to US clients: restaurants in tourist areas, dive shops, tour operators, clinics serving expatriates. If that is not you, start with Google reviews and Facebook Page reviews, or see all platforms on remove fake reviews.
Yelp content guidelines
Yelp’s moderators remove reviews that break its Content Guidelines. The grounds a business can use:
- No first-hand experience: the review is not based on the reviewer’s own visit or purchase.
- Conflict of interest: reviews by competitors, former employees or people with a personal relationship to the business.
- Hate speech, threats or harassment, including attacks on named staff.
- Privacy: personal information about someone, such as an employee’s full name and contact details.
- Irrelevant content: political or social commentary, or complaints about something other than the customer experience.
- Promotional content pushing another business.
How we report to Yelp
- Authorisation. You sign a short mandate letter naming NetClearer as your representative. We never ask for your login and are never added as a user of your Yelp for Business account.
- Report. We contact Yelp’s support and moderation team directly on your behalf, with the guideline the review breaks and a short explanation.
- Moderation. Yelp says every report is evaluated by its moderators against the Content Guidelines, which may take several days.
- Follow-up. If the review stays and new information exists, we send a second, better-documented report. If Yelp asks the business owner to confirm something, we tell you.
“Not recommended” reviews
Yelp’s recommendation software sorts reviews automatically. Reviews it considers less reliable, for example from new accounts or possibly solicited, are moved to a separate “not recommended” section, which does not count in your star rating. They are not deleted and can still be read there.
This works both ways. A suspicious negative review may already be filtered out, so reporting it is not urgent. And Yelp tells businesses not to ask customers for reviews, since solicited reviews tend to end up “not recommended” anyway.
What we never do
- No fake or paid reviews, and no asking customers to review you on Yelp.
- No reports on honest criticism, and no pressure on reviewers.
- If a review stays, we help you write a short public reply instead.
Price
₱1,400 for one review, ₱3,800 for three, ₱10,550 for ten, taxes included. Reviews on other sites are handled the same way: see Trustpilot reviews or content removal prices.
Frequently asked questions
Can Yelp remove a review because it is unfair?
No. Yelp keeps genuine reviews, even harsh ones, and reporting does not guarantee removal. It removes reviews that break the Content Guidelines, such as conflict of interest or hate speech. We check each review during the free assessment and only file the ones with a real ground.
Will the reviewer know we reported them?
Yelp handles reports through its own moderators and does not publish who reported a review. We never contact the reviewer. If the review stays, your public reply is the only thing the reviewer and other visitors will see from your business.
A bad review was moved to “not recommended”. Should we still report it?
Usually not urgent: “not recommended” reviews do not count in your rating and are less visible. If it contains threats, hate speech or personal data, we report it anyway, because Yelp’s software can move reviews back to the recommended section later.
